I have always been aware that energy is all around us after I experienced a spirit close up (on the end of my bed close) when i was a teenager. The experience scared me and I wanted to forget about it. I just wanted to be 'normal' and do teenager things, not talk to ghosts.

I carried on with my life, believing that to be 'normal' I needed to work hard, fit in and be part of a family. No matter how hard i tried, i never 'fitted in', something always felt missing and I started to suffer with anxiety. But wherever I looked for someone to help me outside of the doctors office, they all promoted well-being through being ‘spiritual’. I didn’t want to be spiritual, I just wanted to be happy. 

Then I came across Reiki, it appeared to offer a way for me to take responsibility for my own health and well-being in a gentle non-intrusive way, so I booked a treatment. After that first treatment I felt great and immediately wanted to learn more, which was the start of my journey with energy healing...

I have a full time job that I enjoy, I go to work in a suit everyday, and I do live a 'normal' life, but I also now accept that we don't all have to fit in to what society expects us to be. I love what I do and hope that my experiences through life can help others to become who they truly are meant to be.. Beautiful and full of Joy xxx

I have since looked up the meaning of 'spiritual' and there are a lot of answers, a couple I noticed were – things relating to ghosts, ghouls, and demons! also, things relating to the church or religion. I can assure you that neither of those meanings are what spiritual means to me. To me, spiritual relates to people’s thoughts and beliefs, things that cannot be seen but we know are there. The actual word derives from the Latin work of Spiritualis meaning “breath of life” so when we talk about being spiritual or spiritual healing, we are referring to the energy working at a deep level of our being. We are all spiritual as we all breath.
